Conference Filming & Live Streaming
Conference video production with our crews on site: cameras, live stream, screens, sound and lighting.
We have filmed 44 dotConferences events in Paris since 2013: dotJS, dotCSS, dotGo, dotSwift, dotAI, dotScale, dotSecurity and dotRB. We film every talk with several cameras, stream it live, run the screens in the room and deliver the replays.
For conference organizers, event and communications teams, and agencies that need conference videography for a client. 8020 Films is a video production company in Los Angeles, London and Paris.

What a conference gets
Multi-camera filming
Every talk filmed with several cameras. We recommend 2 to 6 for most venues, and there is no fixed limit.
Live streaming
Conference live streaming to your website, YouTube or another platform, with the connection tested before the first talk.
Screens and projection
The screens in the room: presentations, speaker notes for the person on stage, and audience feedback. We recommend 2 to 6, with TVs or projection to suit the venue.
Sound and lighting
Sound engineers on the speakers' microphones and the sound of the stream, and lighting engineers on the stage.
Scenography
Decoration and stage design when they are part of the job. We handled the stage design for the Global Conference on the Rights and Inclusion of LGBTI+ Youth, and made bespoke video designs for Ed Banger and Warp Records at La Grande Halle de la Villette.
Talk replays
Every talk delivered as a replay after the event, for the people who could not be in the room.
How a conference runs
- 01
Recce
We visit the venue with every technical team involved, the venue's own included, and size the screens, sound, internet access and set.
- 02
Prep day
For larger events, a day to set up and test everything before speaker rehearsals, and a last test of the stream.
- 03
Event days
Multi-camera filming, the live stream and the screens, from the first talk to the last.
- 04
After the event
The talks delivered as replays.

Yes. We plan the crew, the equipment and the live stream for every day of the event, and for larger events we add a prep day before it starts, to set up and test. Pitchfork Music Festival Paris, for example, ran over three days with 15 cameras.
Yes. Venues often bring their own crew for some of the work. We meet the venue's team at the recce with every other technical team involved, agree who does what, and plan our crew around theirs.
We check the internet access at the recce, test the connection one last time on the prep day, and plan for failure before the day: backup encoders, more than one internet connection and a tested switch-over.
Yes. After the event we deliver the talks as replays, so your audience can watch the ones they missed and you can publish them on your own channels.
Yes. Some conferences have their speakers rehearse on the prep day, so we have the stage, the screens and the sound ready before they arrive.
There is no fixed number. For most venues we recommend 2 to 6 cameras and 2 to 6 screens, for the presentations, speaker notes and audience feedback. dotConferences has used up to six cameras and up to six screens. We size both at the recce.
All 44 dotConferences events were in Paris, and we have streamed a company town hall from the British Library in London. We have crews in Los Angeles, London and Paris, and in many other places across Europe and the US.
